Abstract

Taxicab and limousine Owner-Operator information. District of Columbia Taxicab Commission provides the citizens of the District and its visitors a safe, comfortable, efficient and affordable taxicab experience. The Commission strives to provide taxicab owners and operators with a system of rules and regulations that are fair and transparent and that allow for technological advancements to be introduced to the industry and for properly qualified individuals to participate in the industry. DCTC registration of taxis and limousines in the District can be associated with individuals and businesses. Due to recent legislation changes, taxis and limos from other jurisdictions are allowed to keep their DCTC license although they are not a registered vehicle in the District. Additional information on the licensing process is available on the hack licensing page of the DC Taxicab Commission.

The DCTC provides services to approximately 6,700 independent taxicab drivers and 116 taxicab companies, 1,056 independent limousine drivers and 269 limousine companies. The dataset provides information on hack licenses issued to individuals.
