Abstract

Right of Way Distribution Maps, created as part of the DC Geographic Information System (DC GIS) for the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) and participating D.C. government agencies.

Scans provided by DDOT identified rights of way locations which were best fit to road planimetrics.

All DC GIS data is stored and exported in Maryland State Plane coordinates NAD 83 meters.

METADATA CONTENT IS IN PROCESS OF VALIDATION AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

Purpose

This data is used for the planning and management of Washington, D.C. by local government agencies.

Contact OCTO GIS. Any data obtained outside of OCTO GIS are unauthorized copies.

Data accuracy

Accuracy
The scans represents general right of way parameters dated 1998. For all detailed ROW research and information, users need to contract the DDOT Public Space Management Branch at 202-442-4670.

Logical consistency
In process of validation by source and/or responsible agency.

Horizontal positional accuracy
Scans best fit to 2005 road planimetrics. Staff performed spot checks on the fit to planimetrics and found a 3 to 6 foot difference in features, on average, from the ROW scans and the road planimetrics.
